This morning I woke up rubbed my eyes and crawled out of the tent to semi blue skies, which about an hour later opened to be a beautiful day. As I was packing up camp I decided I would go for a swim in the small pool next to my campsite. It turned out to be more of jump in the water shiver for about 15 seconds and get out, it did feel quite refreshing.
After everything was packed up I set off down some of the back roads. The scenery was quite amazing but I spent more times opening and closing gates than I did riding. Allot of the roads here go through sheep grazing country so to keep the herds separate they put gates across the roads.
At one point I stopped to open a gate and I was the only person for miles when I heard rap music coming from somewhere. I thought that was odd and kinda looked around trying to figure it out, I even thought wow this is a song I like. Well after a minute or so I realized the music was coming from my luggage, my MP3 player turned on from all the bumpy roads.
There is a military air base near where I was riding, I figured this out when two jets flew over about 200ft above and almost made me shit myself.
After giving up on the back roads cause of all the gates and I decided to take some coastal roads. I was quite happy when I came across some very cool castles. One castle that was very cool was Harlech Castle, apparently farther south there are larger castles but this was still much larger than any I had seen in Ireland.
It quickly sent my imagination running on what it used to be like, my nerdy childhood days instantly came back when I would play dungeon and dragons.
Well after traveling around some more and even stopping for a quick lunch/nap in the sun I figured I might as well make my way to the HorizonsUnlimited meeting which doesnt start till tomorrow but it will probably be free camping tonight.
So after a couple hours of meandering along I rolled into the campsite about 8:00 where a few other people had already showed up. After having dinner over a cook stove and sharing stories it was off to bed.
