This morning everyone was a little slower getting out and getting on the road, I think everyone had a pretty good time at the pub last night. A few people had showed up last night so we were about 20 people deep. Once on the road we made it about 10 minutes before a guy on a new 1200 GS had a brake failure and put his bike down, luckily he was ok and just minor damage to his bike. Apparently was having problems the day before so I am not sure why he would keep riding with bad brakes but hopefully he learned an easy lesson this time. For the non-motorcycle readers the 1200 GS is the new version of my bike, mine is really just the same bike they have been making for over 10 years but the 12000 has allot of new technology and has been rumored of not quite having all the bugs worked out yet.
Well after getting him sorted off we went. Today we broke into two groups those who wanted more off-road sytle riding and those who wanted to stick to the roads. I quickly went with the 12 or so people for the off-road style riding. I had an absolute blast, we did a couple challenging roads but nothing to hard, the leader of the group didnt want to take us on anything too difficult since he didnt really know everyones ability and there were a couple people doing two-up.
Well after lunch and some more amazing riding I broke off from the main group with a couple other bikes to make our way back to the hostel.
After we got back to the hostel we had a great group dinner at the hostel, some friends of the owner put on a great 4 course Moroccan style meal. Once we had eaten our fill we went next door to the pub to tell some more stories, an astute reader might notice that it seems I have spent as much time in the pub next door as I have been riding, hey I dont make the rules I just follow them and when in Ireland
Though tonight I didnt stay in the pub too long due to some of the worst music I have ever heard. I didnt ride 6000 miles and fly another 4000 or so miles to come to Ireland to listen to a German guy sing american songs. Hello Irish Pub how about some Irish music, I mean I would have settled for a German singing Irish songs, is that too much to ask. At one point I was sitting close to where he was playing and believe it or night I heckled him a little bit, he got quite upset at me and when he was done with the song asked me if I was a musician and if so I was more than welcome to come up and take over.
