This morning I woke up to the sound of rain on the outside of the tent after laying there listening to the relaxing sound of the rain on the tent I figured I had better see what got wet.  So after I did a quick check to make sure I was dry and everything in the tent was dry I quickly realized why this tent was so fricken expensive,  rained all night long and everything was as dry as could be.

Being a new to the jogging world I figured jogging in the rain probably isn’t that safe so I took today off.  After packing up camp and listening to Estela try her best to convince me that I really don’t know how to ride a motorcycle in the rain we were on the road.   The driving went pretty well with the weather getting progressively better through the day till we almost had blue skies in the afternoon.

For lunch I discovered the lost joys of childhood, which lie in the bottom of ice-cream treat called a Blizzard at a chain restaurant called Dairy Queen,  damn rain I should have went jogging this morning, but since I didn’t go jogging I went with a small blizzard instead of the large.

We stopped off in Coos Bay Oregon around 3:00 for  a snack and to stretch the legs at a local 7-11 mini mart.  I will say I haven’t  seen such a gathering of inbreed rednecks in quite a while.  All of Oregon’s finest must have came through that mini mart in the 15 minutes we were there.    I was gonna play count the teeth but that quickly lost interest when I couldn’t get past 7 teeth with twelve customers in the store.

I finally got cell phone reception today after not having any for the last couple days and honestly it was kinda nice.  I hate to say it but I wont miss having a phone when I leave the country.  After checking the dozen or so voicemails, mainly my friends and family telling me to change my message, I honestly think they are just jealous they cant leave such fun messages.

Well we ended up in Lincoln City at a wonderful state campground where we can here the ocean in the background so once again life doesn’t suck.

After we left Lincoln City we worked our way up the Coast and then taking Highway 6 over to Portland.  Highway 6 is one of those great motorcycle roads with long winding roads that make you want to go really fast.    In Portland I gave into Estala and finally got a hotel,  don’t tell her but I was kinda happy to sleep in a bed and enjoy a nice hot shower.    After we got all cleaned up and took a short nap we decided to go see what the local night life had to offer.  Since it was Cinco De Mayo, a Mexican holiday, I figured what better time to go to an Irish Bar.   You gotta love the cold weather  cities,  I think I figured where all the skinny girls go in these places,  the larger healthier girls eat them, kinda like a praying mantis.   That is the only conclusion I could come up with for such a healthy selection of girls being out. Well after a couple cocktails the long day on the road was taking its toll on me so we decided to call it a night.
