When I first came up with this hairbrain idea, well I had to check my bank account and make sure I could really do it. Once Bank of America gave me the A-OK there was only one bike in my mind for the job, a BMW 1150GS. Because lets be truthful nobody really builds a bike for this market better than the Germans. Dont get me wrong I love my Honda 600RR but I wouldnt ride that bike across Africa. I came across a beautiful 2004 1150GS with only 4000 miles on it. Jeff at BMW of San Francisco was allot of help, if you are in the market for a bike go visit this guy. The bike came with an Z Technik Titanium exhaust saving 20 pounds, Pro-Taper bars, Acerbis hand protectors, and an aftermarket windscreen. The bike also came with a Giva top case but I am going to ebay this box and upgrade to a full set of Hepco & Becker Panniers with top box. This bike is one of the cleanest I have ever seen and has the warranty for another two years which is a huge bonus. I added Hepco Becker Engine Bars, Stanton Enginge Gaurds, Hepco Becker Panniers, Hella Fog and Driving Lights mounted on a Migsel Light bar, Migsel Oil Cooler Gaurd, Garmin Quest GPS with Touratech Mount, and a beak gaurd so I finally think she is ready for the road.

This is what she looked like as I drove her off the dealership floor.

I had to put a picture of the other bike in my stable. She is a Honda 600RR who not only has served me well on several road trips (the longest from San Francisco, California to Austin, Texas) but also on the track.
