 I am building this website for many reasons. I guess the first is to document this crazy journey I have convinced myself to take, a journal of sorts. Second is so my friends and family can check in on me and see that I am on track. Third is I would like to think a stranger could stumble upon this site and be inspired to undertake a motorcycle trip even just a small one. A Brief History of How I Got Here!You can say this journey began in 2004 when I was finding myself being bored with the 9-5 corporate life (actually 9-3ish for those who knew my real work schedule). Luckily I was able to sell my loft (shown in the pic above) and fund my whims. First on the schedule was to head to Brazil for a couple weeks of vacation. What a trip that was, thanks Leif for you hospitality. After Brazil next on the schedule was to ship my belongings to Austin, Texas and ride my Honda across the Southwest. Well Austin didn't pan out like I had hoped so once again I started looking around and thinking whats next. Maybe I was watching too many Warren Miller movies but I figured it was as good a time as any to move to a ski town for the winter. After much research I chose Steamboat Springs for the incredible powder and small town atmosphere. It is here that I am doing most of the research and preperation for the trip, when I am not snowboarding that is. |
